Vidhyadeep Institute of Science, Vidhyadeep University, organized an Industry Insight session on QA & Legislation, SOP, Audit on 14 August 2026 at Class Room No. 112, B-Building. The session commenced at 10:30 AM and was designed to provide students with exposure to quality assurance, food industry regulations, standard operating procedures, and auditing practices.
The expert speaker for the session was Mr. Rashid M. Kaviwala from G. A. Foods (India) Pvt. Ltd. He provided students with insights into the importance of maintaining quality and complying with regulatory requirements in industrial operations. He explained how Quality Assurance functions as a component of the food industry, ensuring that products meet standards for safety, consistency, and quality.
During the session, Mr. Kaviwala discussed the role of legislation in regulating industrial activities and emphasized the importance of understanding and following applicable rules and standards. He also explained the significance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in maintaining consistency, controlling processes, reducing errors, and ensuring that employees follow defined operational practices.
A major focus of the interaction was on auditing. Students were introduced to the purpose of audits, the importance of maintaining documentation and records, and the need for monitoring industrial processes. The session helped students understand that effective audits are not merely compliance activities but also tools for identifying gaps, improving processes, and maintaining continuous quality standards.
The Industry Insight session created a platform where students could connect theoretical concepts with industrial practices. The discussion helped them appreciate the professional responsibilities associated with quality management, regulatory compliance, documentation, and process control.
The program was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Pooja Desai, I/C Principal, Science. Mr. Sanjay Patel and Mr. Vivek Goswami served as the Coordinators for the session. Overall, the Industry Insight program was informative and career-oriented, enhancing students’ awareness of industrial quality systems and preparing them to understand the expectations and challenges of professional workplaces.
