Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA), Vidhyadeep University, successfully organized a University-Level Blood Donation Camp on 22nd July 2026 in collaboration with Unity Blood Centre (NABH Accredited) and the National Service Scheme (NSS). The programme was organized with the objective of promoting voluntary blood donation, creating awareness about its life-saving importance, and encouraging social responsibility among students, faculty members, and staff of Vidhyadeep University.
Objectives of the Programme
1.To promote voluntary blood donation among students, faculty members, and staff.
2.To create awareness regarding the importance and benefits of blood donation.
3.To motivate healthy individual ls to become regular voluntary blood donors.
4.To contribute towards maintaining an adequate blood supply for emergency medical care.
5.To inculcate the values of humanitarian service and community participation.
Description of the Programme
The Programme commenced at 10:00 AM with the ceremonial lamp lighting, symbolizing the beginning of this noble humanitarian initiative. The inaugural ceremony was graced by the esteemed dignitaries of Vidhyadeep University Dr. Vipul Shastri Provost Vidhyadeep University, Mr. Mukund Bhai Patel, Registrar, Vidhyadeep University , UBA & NSS Coordinators and representatives from Unity Blood Centre.
Following the inauguration, the healthcare professionals from Unity Blood Centre (NABH Accredited) conducted a comprehensive health assessment of all prospective donors. The screening included registration, medical history evaluation, hemoglobin estimation, blood pressure measurement, and general physical examination to ensure donor eligibility in accordance with standard blood donation guidelines.
The first blood donor of the camp was Mr. Mukund Bhai Patel, Registrar, Vidhyadeep University, whose participation inspired students, faculty members, and staff to actively contribute to this noble cause.
After successful health screening, the blood donation process commenced under the supervision of qualified medical professionals from Unity Blood Centre. Strict aseptic techniques and all prescribed medical protocols were followed throughout the programme to ensure the safety and well-being of every donor.
Upon completion of blood donation, each donor was provided with refreshments, including Frooti, a water bottle, a Blood Donation Certificate, and a Blood Donor Card as a token of appreciation for their valuable contribution.
At 1:00 PM, a lunch break was arranged for the Unity Blood Centre team at the Vidhyadeep University Campus Canteen. The blood donation camp resumed at 1:30 PM, and donor registration and blood collection continued smoothly with enthusiastic participation from the university community.
The camp concluded successfully at 3:00 PM. A group photograph session was organized with the volunteers from B.Sc. Nursing 2nd Semester and 4th Semester, the medical team from Unity Blood Centre, university dignitaries, and the organizing committee.
A total of 15 nursing student volunteers actively assisted in the smooth management of registration, donor guidance, refreshments, crowd management, and overall coordination of the camp.
During the valedictory session, representatives of the Giants Group of Bharuch appreciated the humanitarian efforts of Vidhyadeep University and presented tokens of appreciation to Dr. Vipul Shastri, Provost, Vidhyadeep University, and Mr. Mukund Bhai Patel, Registrar, Vidhyadeep University, in recognition of their valuable support and encouragement towards the successful organization of the Blood Donation Camp.
Outcome of the Programme
- A large number of students, faculty members, and staff voluntarily participated in the blood donation camp.
